Kitesurfers brengen 1300 euro bijeen voor Stichting Amazones - sponsoractie KB4Girls

Wat is KB4Girls?
KB4Girls werd opgericht door negenvoudig wereldkampioen kitesurfen Kristin Boese. KB4Girls organiseert overal ter wereld kitesurfing clinics en combineert dit met sponsoracties voor lokale organisaties die zich inzetten voor vrouwen. Zo stimuleren en steunen ze niet alleen kitesurfende vrouwen en meisjes, maar zetten zich tegelijkertijd in voor vrouwen in het algemeen. De sport als middel voor empowerment.

In juni organiseerde KB4Girls een kitesurfing clinic in Kamperland, Zeeland. De lokale organisatie lag bij Windtown en XWatersports Center. Als goed doel kozen ze Stichting Amazones. Alle deelnemers aan de clinic lieten zich sponsoren. De opbrengst: 1300 euro voor de Amazones.

KB4girls brings female kiters to the next skill level and raises funds for Stichting Amazones

A group of advanced kiters and beginners meets in Kamperland/Holland to train in perfect conditions.

Tampla/London, June 21^st, 2011: During the week - end of June 17^th to 19^th, 2011, female kiters from the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium and Germany took the opportunity to participate in the charity event of KB4girls in Kamperland/Netherlands.

Aiming to support women with breast cancer, the participants collected € 1.300 for Stichting Amazones and will carry on raising funds through their personal fundraising pages and personal donations over the next couple of weeks.

Being one of the windiest events KB4girls has ever seen the participating women had a full 3 days of wind to pushed each other to the next level under the professional supervision and coaching of 9x world champion Kristin Boese in both, the advanced and the beginner clinic. The local organizers Windtown und Xwatersports Center chose the spots on a daily basis in terms of wind directions and training quality. Theory and simulator training as well as a safety briefing complemented the individual learning progresses.

The first day offered a perfect start for all skill levels in excellent flat water conditions in Ouwekerke. On day 2 the advanced kiters trained in Neeltje Jans under tough conditions with wind waves and 24-38 knots. With up to 28 knots, Oostvoorne West provided best shallow and flat water to steady the newly learned tricks and kiting skills during the last day.

Participant Silke Noll stated: “The 1500 km driving through Europe were really worth it. It was a great week-end that brought every single girl forward according to her personal skill level and objectives. Plus I got to know so many nice girls with the same passion for kite-surfing. We will stay in touch and kite together in the future for sure. No matter where.”
